The mission of the Palmetto Elementary School Library is to provide high quality media services to the students, faculty, administration, and community of Palmetto.  The teacher-librarian teaches developmentally appropriate  lessons based on local, state, and national standards to ensure that students are equipped to become independent, lifelong learners.  The teacher-librarian promotes a variety of reading programs to ensure that students can successfully access information for instructional purposes.  The teacher-librarian strives to offer a learning environment that is welcoming, friendly, and professional, and which promotes a love of reading for recreational enjoyment.  The library adheres to district school board policies with regard to the selection and acquisition of appropriate media materials in a variety of formats and representing a variety of viewpoints.
